Dávid Szolláth

Szolláth DávidLiterary historian, critic, editor. He graduated from the University of Pécs and worked there as a lecturer for a few years. He now works at the Institute of Literary Studies of the Research Center for the Humanities. He was the editor first of Kalligram and then of Jelenkor magazine, and is currently the editor-in-chief of Literatura. His book The Aesthetics of Communist Asceticism (2011) deals with left-wing literary perceptions between the two World Wars, and his book Babel Stone by Stone, published in December 2019, includes studies on Joyce, Szentkuthy, József Attila, and Cécile Tormay, among others. He is the editor of a series and wrote a monograph on the life of Miklós Mészöly, and leads writing seminars about him.
